Zanne and Kathryn have a long and successful background in teaching English to international clients in the UK and abroad. In addition, they have worked extensively with international examination boards and publishing houses. It was while co-authoring a course book for Pearson Education, that Zanne and Kathryn first met. They soon discovered their shared passion for language and communication and in 2019, they set out to raise awareness of the need for more effective and empathetic communication in international settings.

With this aim in sight, they wrote and published Is That Clear? Effective communication in a multilingual world and founded their company Acrobat Global. Is that clear? was met with critical acclaim and in 2020 was shortlisted for a Business Book Award and featured in the Financial Times. Through their punchy and thought-provoking book, Zanne and Kathryn  offer practical tips and strategies on how L1 (native English) speakers can, and should, adapt their language when working with international colleagues.

The communication skills training they deliver draws on strategies from the book and their extensive range of clients include the NHS, UK Business Schools, International Charities, LEAs as well as private enterprises. They also regularly give talks to professional bodies such as the Association for Perioperative Practice, the British Indian Nurses Association, the Chartered Association of Business Schools and the Institute of Internal Communication.
